Introduction

Canan graduated from the University of Hertfordshire with a degree in BA (Hons) Law and Business and completed her Legal Practice Course (LPC) on a part-time basis at the University of Law.

Canan joined KTS Legal in 2015 and had worked full time whilst pursuing her LPC at University of Law. She then trained at the firm to qualify as a Solicitor in December 2020. During her time at the firm, Canan has developed extensive and in depth knowledge in all areas of the residential and commercial property including sale and purchases of registered and unregistered (leasehold & freehold) land, re-mortgages (including bridging finance), help to buy, shared ownership and right to buy transactions, transfer of equity, new build and lease extensions.

Canan also assists the Senior partner in the commercial property law department, where she undertakes instructions involving assignment and underletting, break clauses, grant of new leases, surrender of leases, negotiating lease terms, lease renewals, exclusion of the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954 and rent reviews. She has dealt with complex leasehold and freehold commercial transactions and has developed a good client following dealing with very high value transactions.

She also has developed good hands on experience with contentious property matters including breach of contracts and specific performance and has dealt with complicated litigation cases, including leading to the preparation of pre-action protocols, engaging in pre-action negotiations, instructing barristers, drafting particulars of claim, witness statements, preparing and attending to court hearings.

During her free time, Canan takes pleasure in reading books, listening to diverse range of music and spending time with her friends and family. She is a fluent Turkish speaker.
